To afford a one-bedroom rental in Georgia on minimum wage, one would need to put in 100 hours per week of labor. These hefty expenses have put a lot of people who are already dealing with poverty in an endless circle. Because there are no other positions available that are within walking distance of where they live, they can only find minimal wage jobs. Or perhaps they are a parent who is able to work solely at night. There are so many various explanations for why, many of which are caused by events outside of their control.
